Food Services
The Summer Food Service Program, administered by the Iowa Department of Education, provides nutritious meals and/or snacks to many of the children who receive free or reduced meals at school.

Reminder that if a student purchases milk only, the charge is .35. The student is charged this even if he or she has an eligibility status of free or reduced. Milk is included in the purchase of a hot lunch or breakfast meal, but there is a charge if it is purchased alone. There is also a .35 charge if a student takes a second milk.

The nutrition services program offers nutritious breakfasts and lunches at each school. Meals must meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which recommend including no more than 30 percent of calories from fat and lowering sodium intake. School breakfast provides 1/4 of the recommended dietary allowances (RDA); school lunch provides 1/3 of the RDA.
